Reads Both Magnetic Stripe and Smart Cards

Hypercom offers specialized models of the S9 family for different payment options. Model S9 is a PIN pad only. Model S9C is a PIN pad/terminal that can read magnetic stripe cards. Model S9S is a PIN pad/terminal with smart card capabilities. Model S9SC is a PIN pad/terminal that is designed to read both smart cards and magnetic stripe cards. The smart card reader on all models accepts 3V and 5V cards or economic 3V-only cards.

User-Friendly and Fully Compatible

The S9 has been Visa approved for customer convenience. It is Triple DES certified and EMV4.0 Type approved.

The S9 is user-friendly and easy to read, with an illuminated display featuring oversized, colored OK and CANCEL keys.

As a PIN pad, the S9 is fully compatible with all Hypercom terminals from the T7 series through the ICE™ family It replaces all Hypercom PIN pads including the S1, S7 and S8 families. The S9 features Hypercom plug-and-play software.
